Sarah “Sally” Jackson

Descendants of Sarah “Sally” Jackson

Generation No. 1

Sarah “Sally”3 Jackson  (George2, John1) was born 30 November 1786 in (West) Virginia, and died Bet. 1830 – 1836 in probably Clarksburg, Harrison County, (West) Virginia. She married Daniel Kincheloe 20 November 1806 in Harrison County, (West) Virginia[i]. He was born July 1778 in Williams County, Maryland, and died 25 October 1855 in Harrison County, (West) Virginia.

She was probably buried bet. 1830 – 1835, Historic Jackson Cemetery, Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia. There is no tombstone reading recorded for Sarah in this cemetery, but her husband is buried there and is the likely place for her burial.

Daniel Kincheloe was a member of the Virginia Legislature from Harrison County before Statehood.[ii] Daniel succeeded Jonathan Jackson as Harrison County Collector in 1816.[iii] He remarried after Sarah’s death. He was enumerated in the 1850 Harrison County Federal Census, age 65, with wife Ellen, age 60, Flora, age 20, born about 1830; Polk age 4 and Mary J. age 1.

Child of Sarah Jackson and Daniel Kincheloe is:

i.    Flora4 Kincheloe, born Abt. 1830 in West Virginia. This child, Flora, age 20 (born 1830) is listed with Daniel Kincheloe in the 1850 census for Harrison County.  It is likely she is the daughter of Sarah, and perhaps Sarah died at her birth.
